A great 7-day Uzbekistan itinerary covers the classic Silk Road route Arrive in Tashkent (Day 1), take a high-speed train Afrosiyob to Samarkand (Days 2-3), then train to Bukhara (Days 4-6) and visit outside of Bukhara on Day 6 and take afternoon high-speed train Afrasiyob back to Tashkent and finally returning to Tashkent (Day 6) and departing from Tashkent (Day 7)
Days 1-2: Tashkent and travel to Samarkand
Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent. Settle in, take a city tour with English guide with transport since Tashkent is big city and saves time. Visit Earthquake memorial, old town Khast Imam Complex and see one of the oldest Kuran in the world, visit Chorsu Bazaar and ride on the beautifully decorated Tashkent Metro, and see Amir Timur Square.
Day 2: Tashkent to Samarkand. Morning take high-speed train to Samarkand. City tour before check in to hotel.
Days 3-4: Samarkand and travel to Bukhara
Day 3: Explore Samarkand. Focus on Registan Square, Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, and Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis.
Day 4: Samarkand to Bukhara. Morning train to Bukhara. Visit old town before check in to hotel
Days 5-6: Bukhara and travel to Tashkent
Day 5: Explore Bukhara. Discover the Poi Kalyan Complex, Ark Fortress, Samanid Mausoleum, and Lyab-i Hauz area.
Day 6: Bukhara to Tashkent. Travel by high-speed train Afrosiyob back to Tashkent takes a bit more than 4 hours
