Day 1: Samarkand border – Seven Lakes overnight in guest house
Pick up at 8:00 am from Samarkand hotel. Transfer to the border. After crossing the border in Tajikistan our team will take you to the tour of Seven Lakes.
The Seven Lakes region, located in the picturesque Fann Mountains of Tajikistan, serves as a stunning natural wonder that attracts nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Nestled at an elevation of approximately 2,200 meters, this area is recognized for its remarkable landscape, comprising seven interconnected lakes, each varying in size and color, creating a vibrant tapestry of blues and greens. Day 2: Seven Lakes – Iskanderkul Lake overnight in guest house
Iskanderkul Lake, one of Tajikistan’s most picturesque natural wonders, is nestled within the Fann Mountains in the Sughd Province. Known for its stunning turquoise waters, the lake sits at an elevation of approximately 2,195 meters, making it one of the highest lakes in the region. Surrounded by towering peaks and dense forests, Iskanderkul is not only a significant attraction for nature enthusiasts but also plays a vital role ecologically, providing a habitat for various species of flora and fauna.
Day 3: Iskanderkul Lake – Voru village –Penjikent – Samarkand border
Voru is one of the oldest villages in Tajikistan, located at an altitude of 2,200 meters in the Sughd region of northern Tajikistan, within the Fann Mountains. Positioned in the western Fann Mountains and the northern part of the Gisar range, it lies east of the well-known trekking site, Seven Lakes (Haftkul). The village is surrounded by stunning mountain lakes, including Lake Alo in the Amshud Gorge at approximately 3,000 meters, as well as Lake Khushkhunda and Lake Nahang. Visitors are drawn to Voru for its unique traditional architecture, authentic rural lifestyle, and breathtaking natural surroundings. It is a highlight of many Northern Tajikistan tours.
Penjikent is northern Tajikistan’s main archaeological site. This rich, cosmopolitan place thrived on the banks of the Zarafshan River until destroyed by Arab invaders in 722. Silk cocoons were unearthed at the site during excavations.
Sarazm is located 20 km west of Penjikent city and it is one of the oldest settlements in Central Asia, where archaeologists have unearthed a Bronze Age temple complex and 2,500-year-old grave of a wealthy woman.
Then drive back to Samarkand border for departure. After crossing the border the driver from Samarkand side will meet you and transfer to your hotel.
